A Little Bit About Me

I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Dayton. I completed my graduate degree at the University of Cincinnati, graduating with honors. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Supervision designation through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
I have worked in a number of settings. I was a Medical Social Worker for 20 years working first with Miami Christel Manor and later, with Kettering Medical Center. I worked primarily with seniors who were facing health related difficulties and the need for in-home care and/or long-term care. I also worked in the hospital Residency Clinic as well as provided on-call evening and weekend coverage for victims of domestic violence and child abuse as well as other traumas.

I later worked as a School Social Worker with West Carrollton School District. I am a certified School Social Worker through the Ohio Department of Education. In my role as a School Social Worker, I was a member of the Intervention Assistance Team where I joined with other school professionals to develop and implement interventions for students experiencing academic and/or behavioral difficulties. I provided advocacy for parents of students who needed services both within the school setting and in the community. I provided individual counseling to elementary aged students. I also facilitated groups addressing social skills, anger management, grief support, organizational skills, and divorce support. Additionally, I provided crisis intervention support for the school district.

I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). I also maintain my Ohio School Social Work certification.
